TCD Heatless Desiccant Compressed Air Dryers
Redefining Compressed Air Drying for Medical and Dental Environments
The TCD Twin Column Heatless Desiccant Compressed Air Dryer is a new and advanced compressed air purification solution—purpose-built for small medical and dental compressors where clean, dry and sterile3 air is critical.
Patented Skroll® Technology

Performance
Engineered for flexibility, security, easy installation and complete reliability
Designed to replace traditional membrane systems—the TCD delivers unparalleled performance, reliability and air quality consistency.
With Skroll® media at the core of its twin column design, the TCD sets a new benchmark in adsorption drying technology—ensuring continuous, high purity air supply even in demanding clinical environments.
The TCD Twin Column Heatless Desiccant Compressed Air Dryer integrates five stages of air treatment within a compact footprint, eliminating the limitations of membrane dryers. It delivers superior dew point performance, consistent operation under variable conditions. Even after misuse, such as excessive condensation, excess flow and/or low pressure, performance is restored once normal operating conditions are restored.
With no need for external filtration, drains or complex controls, installation is simple and cost-effective. Its compact design enables easy integration as a true ‘fit and forget’ zero maintenance solution, consistently delivering compressed air to the required ISO8573.1 Quality Classes for healthcare compliance.
The TCD Twin Column Heatless Desiccant Compressed Air Dryer incorporates our unique Skroll® adsorption media within a high performance twin column system, specifically engineered to maximise air quality, system reliability and cost efficiency in healthcare environments.

Operating Principle
The TCD dryer uses the pressure swing adsorption (PSA) principle of drying compressed air utilising two identical columns. Each column contains advance Skroll adsorption material specifically developed for use in compressed air dryers operating in arduous conditions.

Compressed air containing condensate enters into the inlet port of the TCD dryer where the 1st stage separation of condensate takes place. The integrated 2nd stage removes residual condensate and airborne particles.
In operation, compressed air passes through the TCD adsorption column ‘A’ where moisture is adsorbed and the air is subsequently dried. Simultaneously, a small amount of this dry air is depressurised and counter-flowed, via the non-return valve (NRV) orifice, down through column ‘B’ and exhausted to atmosphere.
Outlet filtration is built into the top of the adsorption column of the dryer.

The result is that column ‘B’ becomes regenerated to a dry state ready for use once again. The cycle time is 1 minute per side, 2 minutes per complete cycle.
The TCD dryer controller periodically operates the normally closed solenoid control valve, reversing the function of each dryer column to ensure a continuous supply of clean and dry air.
The operation of the TCD dryer is independent of the compressor ON/OFF operating cycle. It operates continuously when power is available.
